INTERNAL MEDICINE AND OUTPATIENT SERVICES DEPARTMENT

Overview

The Internal Medicine and Outpatient Services Department has 108 in-patient beds, including a 17-bed Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) and a 14-bed Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU). Specialized units include Nephrology (hemodialysis), Cardiology (diagnostic rooms for heart conditions), Neurology (EEG and EMG diagnostics), Gastroenterology (endoscopy services), Pulmonology (respiratory diagnostics), Dermatology (advanced therapies), Hematology (clinics, testing, chemotherapy, upcoming bone marrow transplant), and Infectious Disease (care for acute and chronic conditions with negative pressure rooms and an HIV/TB Care and Treatment Centre). Staff includes specialists, super-specialists, registrars, residents, and fellows. Outpatient services, located on the ground and first floors, feature OPD pharmacies, a mini lab, social welfare office, multiple registration points, and serve 350 to 500 patients daily, with special services for elders and rehabilitation medicine, along with paperless management.
